Weekends are sweeter when spent with family and friends. Childhood best friends Keziah and Lauriz know this all too well. Back in fifth grade, they would always share ice cream during their breaks, and cookies and cream remained their favorite.

"As in walang palya, apat kami sa magbabarkada. Cone, cup, or 'yung stick, we will buy cookies and cream every break time namin," shared Keziah during a weekend event at UNIQLO's flagship store in Glorietta 5, Makati.

At 29 and now an influencer, she is excited about the Selecta x UNIQLO collaboration, making it feel like a full-circle moment for her.
Selecta Series launch
This December, Selecta and UNIQLO take over weekends with an exclusive merch collab. The collaboration features shirts and tote bags with Selecta-inspired designs created by a local artist. The campaign highlights weekend bonding and family moments.
"We wanted to encourage more bonding among families. The point of the Selecta Series is to bring that message to places where families usually hang out on weekends. One of the best spots for that is malls. Tuwing weekends kasi, kasama mo 'yung parents mo, or your kids, or even friends. That is where people naturally bond. And UNIQLO is a family favorite," said Kim Reyes, Assistant Brand Manager for Bestsellers.

Four designs that bring back memories
The collection celebrates Filipino culture and serves as a throwback to Selecta memories through four limited-edition, vintage-inspired designs.

• The classic Cornetto cone featuring its iconic line, "Saan aabot ang Bente Mo?"
• The household ice cream prank, where you think it is ice cream inside, but it is actually a fish, captioned "Dito Galing Trust Issues Ko."
• Three ice creams on sticks crossing the street with the caption "Gotta Stick Together," celebrating friendship.
• An open tub of Selecta Bestsellers with a scooper and an ice cream cup beside it, captioned "Sarap ng Weekend."

Make it personal with UTme!

Get a free pint every weekend
Sharing ice cream makes bonding sweeter. Every weekend in December, shoppers who purchase any item from the Selecta Series, take a photo of the mannequin display, and post it online may receive a free pint of any one of their favorite ice cream flavors: Cookies and Cream, Double Dutch, or Rocky Road.

"For us, ice cream has always been about sharing. When someone brings out a tub at home, everyone gathers right away," added Reyes.
For Keziah, the collection represents more than merchandise. It gives her a chance to relive childhood memories.
"I got a tote bag for my friend, and also bought a shirt for my boyfriend and my dad. All Selecta, kase marami rin akong memories with them at Selecta. My dad has always loved Cornetto," she said.

"It is great that it brings back memories, and now my dad can have a shirt that matches ours. It is something we can all enjoy together," added Keziah.
