A special occasion feels incomplete without the sweet presence of cake, whatever flavor we may crave. More than just a dessert, cake symbolizes joy, celebration, and the little details that make every moment meaningful.
In iWant’s newest microdrama, “A Cake to Remember,” that’s exactly how Mandy (Francine Diaz) treats every pastry she bakes, with each one carrying memories of her love for Landon (Seth Fedelin). But when a tragic accident erases Landon’s memories of the past, Mandy turns to her craft, hoping her cakes can help him rekindle the moments they once shared.
As their characters find their way back to love, FranSeth takes on a sweet challenge of their own: decorating a wedding cake. In “The Cake to Remember,” the duo gamely raced against the clock, tasked with completing their cake design in just three minutes.
Channeling her role as Mandy, Francine urged Seth to lend a hand, even as he continued teasing her before finally joining in. Later on, Seth proudly revealed a wedding-couple cake topper to complete their presentation.
Seth started adding decorations along the bottom tier, sharing that arranging the edible leaves was the most stressful part. Francine agreed, noting how fragile the leaves were and how easily they could break if not handled carefully.
To keep the fun going, the Kapamilya loveteam took on a series of quirky questions. Francine asked Seth about the weirdest food combination he secretly enjoys. “Kanin tapos kape, especially sinangag,” Seth revealed, prompting Francine to instantly agree with his pick.
The role of Mandy fits Francine perfectly, as she also knows her way around the kitchen in real life. Seth even admitted that Francine is a good baker. When asked whether she strictly follows recipes or relies on her own measurements, Francine said she does both, depending on the pastry. “Kapag nasunod mo na ‘yung recipe tapos tinikman mo nang tinikman, doon mo mare-realize kung ano ‘yung labis o kulang,” she explained.
As their cake grew more vibrant with lovely embellishments, Francine asked Seth if it was the kind of dessert he would choose to have for the rest of his life. “Hindi ito ‘yung mga cake na kapag birthday mo, ihahanda… Ito ‘yung mga cake na dapat magkaroon ka ng ganitong cake,” he explained, emphasizing the one-of-a-kind experience of having a wedding cake.
With just a minute left to wrap up their design, Francine and Seth carefully polished the final details to make sure nothing was missed. They placed the bride-and-groom figurine on top, while the lower tiers bloomed with colorful flowers.
Giving their creation adorable names, Seth chose “Our Legacy Cake,” while Francine went with “LanDy Cake,” inspired by their characters, Landon and Mandy.
