Brace yourself for a story that knows exactly where it hurts! Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto are set to reunite on the big screen, this time under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Cathy Garcia-Sampana for “Always Yours, Never Mine”.
The upcoming film marks the pair's latest project together with Star Cinema following 2024's "Un/Happy For You", a romance drama movie directed by Petersen Vargas. "Always Yours, Never Mine" also reunites Joshua with Direk Cathy after their 2025 family drama film, "Meet, Greet & Bye".
“Always Yours, Never Mine” was announced through a screen test released on August 12, giving audiences a first glimpse of Joshua and Julia’s performances with Direk Cathy at the helm — and an early taste of the emotional intensity in store.
With Direk Cathy’s command of “Action!”, the two launched into a confrontation charged with heartbreak.
Seemingly in a rush to get an answer, Joshua’s character presses Julia’s character on whether she is certain about loving another man.
Julia’s character stands firm: “When you love someone, you compromise, you sacrifice, you commit. Kahit masakit na, kahit na ang liit-liit na ng tingin mo sa sarili mo.”
The conversation cuts even deeper when she tells him that he would never understand what she is going through because he has never loved anyone before.
But Joshua’s character delivers the revelation that changes everything: “Naiintindihan ko dahil mahal kita. Kahit masakit, kahit na ang liit na ng tingin ko sa sarili ko."
Julia then lands the painful final blow: “’Wag ako ang mahalin mo… Iba.”
Even in a brief screen test, led by Direk Cathy, the exchange offers a peek at the emotional weight awaiting, while putting Joshua and Julia’s dramatic chemistry front and center.
