Aga Muhlach was more than happy to spill his secrets in this 2018 exclusive video promoting his romance drama film, "First Love". With his co-star Bea Alonzo by his side, Aga revisited four of his many iconic roles on the big screen and on television.
"May Minamahal", "Sana Maulit Muli", "Oki Doki Doc", and "Kung Ako na Lang Sana" were on the hot seat, and Aga revealed some fascinating, never-before-known stories from these films' sets. And not just that, he also gave us all the deets about whether his on-screen chemistry with his former leading ladies ever turned reel to real.

'May Minamahal' (1993)
An excited Bea, who gushed about watching the film in the past, got Aga to reveal details about his romance with Aiko Melendez. When asked by Bea whether he and Aiko ever became an item, Aga confirmed, "Mabilis na mabilis lang talaga 'yun."
He added, "We were young, and I was busy, and she was busy too. We had our moments, but when we were filming, it was nice."
Aga then looked back at the solid story at the heart of the 1993 film, along with the hilarious sibling dynamics of his character Carlitos with his sisters, and Aiko's Monica with her brothers.
'Sana Maulit Muli' (1995)
As for Lea Salonga, Aga maintained that they have never been anything more than strictly platonic: "Lea and I have always been friends." Nonetheless, he stressed that one of the most unforgettable parts of filming "Sana Maulit Muli" was working with Lea.
Aga also sang praises for the creative genius behind the romance film, director Olivia M. Lamasan. He enthused, "It was nice because nakatrabaho ko si Olive Lamasan and doon ko naramdaman 'yung on the spot, na, kahit 'yung mga last na eksena namin na mabibigat, doon n'ya lang sinusulat 'yung monologue mo. Saka n'ya ibibigay sa 'yo."
'Oki Doki Doc' (1996)
"Oki Doki Doc" was a beloved sitcom long before its film version arrived in cinemas. An iconic hit from the late '90s, it's a show many of us grew up with. But for Aga, the impact of the project on his life was felt even long after its run.
He fondly said, "'Oki Doki Doc' was my life." Aga also shared that his role as Doc Aga is one that people still refer to him as out in public. On a much sweeter note, "Oki Doki Doc" was also where he first met his would-be wife, Charlene Gonzalez.
As for the show's final stretch in 2000, Aga revealed that it was a snap decision. "Nakaupo kami lahat and may tatanggalin sa cast namin," he recalled. "Sabi ko, 'Since this is going to happen, let this be our last taping day.'"
Aga was met with surprised reactions, but continued, "'Since I'm getting married, tapos gusto n'yong tanggalin si ganito. If mawawala 'yung original cast, let's end this show on a high note.'"
'Kung Ako na Lang Sana' (2003)
For this iconic team-up with singer-actress, Sharon Cuneta, Aga reminisced about how "Kung Ako na Lang Sana" was "an event" at the time.
He said, "Parang [si] Sharon, nakasama na n’ya lahat ng guys sa industriya ng pelikula. Ako nakasama ko na lahat sa industriya ng pelikula.”
With about 20 years of working in the same industry, it wasn’t until the 2003 film that the two stars got to share the screen together: "That's our first and last. Not last, I mean, but that's the only movie we made. It was nice, it was fun. We remain friends up to now."
