Say “hello” to this new, heart-tugging look at the upcoming drama film, “Meet, Greet & Bye”! Star Cinema unveiled the film’s official teaser via “TV Patrol” on September 17.
As a first glimpse into the movie, an official announcement teaser dropped on June 23, revealing a stellar cast consisting of Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, Juan Karlos, and the Diamond Star, Maricel Soriano. Helmed by none other than Cathy Garcia-Sampana, the director follows up her most recent work “Hello, Love, Again” with a tender family story that’s set to unleash powerful emotions among viewers.
In the teaser, Belle as Geri Ann Facundo walks among a sea of graduating students, taking her victory lap with her mother, portrayed by Maricel. As her brothers — played by Piolo (Tupe), Joshua (Brad), and Juan Karlos (Leo) — beam with pride over their unica hija, Joshua’s Brad even jokes: “Akalain mo, ga-graduate na.”
The mother-daughter pair shares an excited glance before stepping into the spotlight onstage. While Geri savors the fruit of her hard work, their heartwarming moment ends when Maricel suddenly faints. As the auditorium trades applause for gasps, we fade into the tension-filled home of the Facundos.
Now, ready those tissues while you still can!
In stark contrast to the scrumptious food laid out and the adorable party decorations plastered with Geri’s childhood photos, Maricel’s children improvise an intervention in the middle of what looks to be their youngest’s graduation celebration.
Before the conversation gets heated, Maricel cools off with her foldable fan. Squint hard and you might just see a familiar face!

There’s no point in hiding it now: the Facundo kids know that their mother’s cancer has returned, and it has gotten worse. The four decide that another round of chemotherapy is the next sensible course of action. Maricel, on the other hand, couldn’t be more awake as her new reality unfolds.
Channeling her frustration over a crisp whole lechon, Maricel cries out while chopping, “Ayoko nga, ang kulit! Ayoko nang magsuka! Ayoko nang makalbo!”
Through gritted teeth, Maricel details her acceptance of what is to come: “Gusto ko lang namang maging masaya sa mga huling araw ko. Masama ba ‘yun?”
Wasting no time in letting all the emotions flow, Moira dela Torre’s “Kumpas” softly plays — cue the waterworks! Settling back into the Facundos’ heavy exchange, Piolo gives his unfiltered thoughts on Maricel’s decision: “That’s so selfish, Ma.”
As Maricel points out that it's her life that is on the line, Juan Karlos sadly counters, “Pero kami ang maiiwan.” Maricel fires back with dry wit, “Then it’s a tie!”
