Ice Seguerra's successful "Sessionistas: The Playlist" concert caused a stir on the internet with a controversy that sparked a whole online discussion: should concertgoers post complete videos of artists performing live?
“When you buy a concert ticket, you’re buying the experience of watching the show. You are not buying the right to record the whole thing and upload it to your own YouTube page or ocial media pages. Hindi po dahil nakabili tayo ng ticket, atin na rin ang concert,” Seguerra pointed out.

As the online debate over concert etiquette continues, OPM icon Gary Valenciano, who will headline a 10-night concert series at Music Museum in October, recently spoke on the subject, agreeing with Seguerra.
“If you want to post a portion of the song, that's fine; but the whole show? The thing is, I'm at the Music Museum, and I can see who is recording. I can actually approach the person and say, 'Hey.' I don't want to put them on the spot, but you know,” Valenciano said, emphasizing that instead of recording, concertgoers should enjoy the whole experience at the venue.
The Kapamilya music legend went on to say that some concerts in the United States do not allow phones, sharing, “[Full recording] is the wrong thing to do. It does happen. However, I believe there will be measures in the near future — particularly [in terms of] the number of artists visiting the Philippines and the number of artists having concerts — kung saan ay magbibigay talaga sila ng ganyan, warning.”
Valenciano also expressed his thoughts on the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) in the music industry.
“What I like about [my concert] is that it will not feature any AI. Anything you see and hear on stage will be the result of creativity,” he stated.
He continued, “It is a tool that can be used to create something. It can also be used as a tool to diminish your own creative ability. That's all in a few seconds. It is an idea, but you did not create it in equal parts. I heard there's an AI rendition of 'Sana Maulit Muli.' Some people are making money off of it, and they get your songs.”
When asked if AI bothers him, he responded, “It's artificial intelligence. I'm not worried. AI will never be able to create 'Back at the Museum.' AI will simply be a trend. ‘Yung parang, ‘Uy, ang galing. Then, tapos na. Let’s move on na to the real thing.’ Parang ganoon.”
