Angela Ken explores the different seasons of love, growth, and moving forward in her latest EP, Panahon.

The six-track indie-folk project centers on the idea that love can endure through time and seasons.

"Sometimes we’re lucky that love arrives at the right time, but there are times that we’re asked to wait, and let go. Love is not always spring and summertime, sometimes love could be fall and cold. But love would always be present, despite the changing of times and seasons," said the press release about the inspiration behind the album.

With the theme “Love Encompasses Time,” the EP takes a reflective look at different chapters in one’s life while still holding on to hope for what lies ahead.

"It explores the feeling of reflection, growth, and quiet hope, capturing moments of longing, realization, and the courage to embrace the future," added the press release.

The EP contains the tracks the title track "Panahon," “Baka Bukas,” “Kulimlim,” “Pwede bang mamaya?”  “Kahapon," and “Simula Ngayon.”

Panahon marks the latest release from Angela, whose contemporary folk-pop sound first gained widespread attention in 2021 after she shared a snippet of her then-unfinished original song “Ako Naman Muna” online.

The song eventually became her debut single after she was discovered by ABS-CBN Music executive and award-winning composer-producer Jonathan Manalo. “Ako Naman Muna” has since accumulated millions of streams and earned Angela recognition, including an Awit Awards win for Best Inspirational Recording.

In recent years, Angela has continued expanding her discography through solo releases and collaborations. In 2024, she released songs including “Alas Diyes,” “Sikulo” with Maki and Nhiko, and her first solo single under Tarsier Records, “Kulimlim.”

Angela’s music has also landed on several Spotify editorial playlists, including EQUAL, which previously featured her on a digital billboard in New York City. She was also among the featured artists of Coke Studio Philippines in 2021.
