After tickets for their first major solo concert Gabi ng Lambing sold out within hours, OPM band Silent Sanctuary announced a second show but with an unusual twist.
During their concert press conference, vocalist Sarkie Sarangay revealed that instead of adding another performance after their originally announced concert on October 25, they will stage Gabi ng Lambing Reverse Day 2 on October 24 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
“Maraming salamat talaga dahil hindi namin ine-expect na sa sobrang dami ng demand, na noong first day umabot na ata sa 100 thousand ‘yung queue ng mga gustong manood. Magkakaroon tayo ng Day 2, pero reverse siya,” he announced.
He added, “Initially October 25 lang ‘yung gusto natin. Hindi namin ine-expect na lalaki ‘yung demand so magkakaroon kami ng October 25 and 24. Kumbaga mauuna ‘yung Day 2 bago mag-Day 1.. Reverse na siya. Pero, same pa rin sa MOA Arena.”
The band said that it was due to the venue’s availability that made them decide to hold the additional concert day on the 24th, a day before their Day 1 show.
“Triny namin kumuha ng ibang araw. A week after or two weeks after ng concert, naghanap na rin kami ng venue. Tinry namin pero sobrang fully booked na lahat,” Sarkie explained.
“Ayon nga bumalik ‘yung SM sa amin na na-open ‘yung 24 so ayon. Actually inisip namin kung tama ba gagawin namin kasi nga reverse ito pero try na natin. Sana wag kayo magalit kasi triny namin magkaroon (ng ibang date) pero ayon,” he continued.
Anjo Inacay also expressed: “Fortunately, MOA Arena offered October 24. Sana wag kayo magalit and maging happy rin kayo sa mag makakapanood pa.”
Despite announcing the additional show ahead of the original concert date, Silent Sanctuary assured fans that both nights will feature different experiences.
“Iibahin namin ‘yun para ‘di mag-chu-chu ‘yung mga nanood sa 24 sa 25. Para walang spoilers doon kasi iibahin namin sa 25,” Sarkie said. “Inisip din namin na parang ang unfair din sa mga nauna noong sa Day 1 na nakipagunahan and nakipagagawan ng tickets. Ime-make sure namin na special din ‘yung iyayabang nila sa Day 1 sa Day 2 na mauunang manood.”

Beyond the success of their upcoming concert, the band also reflected on how the growing support for OPM has encouraged more local artists to mount large-scale solo shows.
Speaking to PUSH ABS-CBN, Poch Villalon credited fellow musicians who helped pave the way for today's thriving concert scene. “Nakakatuwa dahil, in the first place, thankful kami sa mga artists din na nagsimula noong ganitong event na solo concert, na trend ng mga musicians na kaya pala. Maraming salamat dahil nakikita na ng buong Pilipinas yung talagang talent ng mga artists.”
Sarkie also emphasized on the fans power, saying: “Kung wala ‘yung fans talaga, hindi mangyayari ito. Maraming salamat sa tumatangkilik lalong-lalo na sa amin dahil talagang lagi ko sinasabi na wala kaming tiwala sa sarili namin pero ayon nga, nabibigyan kami ng biyaya, kaya maraming salamat talaga.”
As they prepare for their milestone concert, Silent Sanctuary also assured fans that they have no plans of slowing down creatively ahead of their silver anniversary next year.
“Expect niyo na maglalabas pa kami ng maraming singles pa, maraming maraming kanta pa. Kahit na nagco-concert kami, hindi namin makakalimutan na gumawa ng kanta. Hindi namin nakakalimutan na kumbaga sa roots namin, intact pa rin, solid pa rin,” Sarkie said.
Anjo teased, “At baka malay niyo maglabas kami ng bagong kanta sa concert pa.”
