“Hello, this is Yang Hyun-suk from YG. I think it’s been about six months since I last greeted you. Today, I’d like to explain YG’s plans for this year,” the YG executive shared.
Girl group BABYMONSTER is set to release their third mini-album, titled Choom, sometime in May. This will be followed by an unnamed full album and a second world tour starting this June.
“So I feel like it will be a BABYMONSTER album you’ve never heard before. I’m determined to release a full album around Fall, so around October. I would like to promise you that,” he explained.
“This time it’s not just North America but also South America, Europe, and Oceania. We’ll make sure that BABYMONSTER will come visit MOSTIEZ with their biggest world tour,” he added.
Boy group TREASURE will be releasing a new album in June and will be followed by a world tour starting in 2027. Yang Hyun-suk expressed that this will be a new side of the South Korean group that fans have never seen before as they explore the hip-hop genre.
“This album will really showcase a new side of TREASURE never seen before. We’ve put together and prepared this album diligently with YG-style hip-hop tracks so you can definitely look forward to it,” he shared.
Entering their 30th year in the industry, Yang Hyun-suk shared that he would continue working hard as he looks forward to the 40th and 50th year of the company. Apart from the 30th year of the company, BIGBANG and BLACKPINK are also celebrating their 20th and 10th anniversaries, respectively.
“There’s no such thing honestly because even up until our 40th and 50th anniversary, I’ll never lose the beginner’s mindset and work with all my heart. That’s all I can tell you,” he expressed.
Yang Hyun-suk then hinted that BIGBANG will have a global tour this year to mark their two decades in the industry.
“The most successful boy group of YG. The reason why people miss BIGBANG and look forward to their performance is because they’re united with hopes to see and hear all the successful hit songs they’ve sung,” he said.
“I would like to announce that BIGBANG’s global tour will kick off. Because the artists and company have been working together for so long, I don’t think there would be any difficulties. All the YG staff will give their absolute best effort to produce the most perfect and beautiful BigBang performance,” he teased.
More details about the tour have yet to be announced by YG Entertainment.
Meanwhile, there were no plans mentioned yet about BLACKPINK’s 10th anniversary this year.
