BIGBANG, the iconic K-pop boy band, will embark on a world tour this year to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its debut.
Yang Hyun-suk, founder and executive producer of YG Entertainment, announced the news in a video posted late Tuesday on YouTube, where he also outlined the 2026 plans for the K-pop acts under his label.
"Celebrating the 20th anniversary this year, we've agreed to hold a BIGBANG performance. I would like to announce that BIGBANG's global tour will kick off," he said.
A detailed schedule for the tour, including its kickoff date, has yet to be announced.
"All the YG staff will give their absolute best effort to produce the most perfect and beautiful BIGBANG performance," Yang assured.
The announcement comes ahead of BIGBANG's performance at Coachella in April.
Currently composed of G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung, BIGBANG debuted in 2006 and went on to become one of the most influential and best-selling boy bands of its era, inspiring a new generation of idols with its edgy, hip-hop-infused sound.
BIGBANG's notable singles include "Lies," "Haru Haru," "Fantastic Baby," "Bang Bang Bang" and ""Fxxk It," among many other hits.

The group's most recent release was the single "Still Life," which came out in April 2022. In 2024, however, G-Dragon put out the single "Home Sweet Home," which featured his two bandmates though it was not credited as a BIGBANG track.

Meanwhile, Yang also bared that girl group Babymonster would release an extended play (EP) titled "Choom (Dance)" in early May.
A pre-release single of the same title will be unveiled ahead of the EP, which will be fronted by a different "powerful title track," Yang said.
Yang said he also hoped to release a full album for Babymonster "around fall" and that the group would embark on a world tour.
Boy group Treasure, meanwhile, is set to release a new EP in June, featuring hip-hop tracks created in response to the members' request, Yang said.

Treasure's sub-unit T5 will also return this year, while its rapper trio composed of Choi Hyun-suk, Haruto and Yoshi will debut under a new unit name.
The boy group will also kick off a new world tour next year, Yang said.
YG is also scheduled to debut a new boy group this fall and reveal the remaining two members of its upcoming four-piece girl group, according to the video.
Yang was a member of the influential 1990s Korean group Seo Taiji and Boys before going on to establish YG Entertainment, which has produced some of K-pop’s most popular acts, including 2NE1, Winner, iKON and Blackpink.
