MANILA — Park Bom, a member of the iconic K-pop girl group 2NE1, will not be able to participate from the group's upcoming activities due to health reasons.
The development was announced Wednesday by the 41-year-old singer's agency D-Nation Entertainment.
"We regret to inform you that Park Bom will not be able to participate in 2NE1’s upcoming activities," D-Nation wrote in the statement, as translated by Korean entertainment news portal Soompi.
"As many fans have been eagerly supporting 2NE1's full-group activities, it is with a heavy heart that we share this news," the company said.
"Following medical advice to prioritize rest and stability, we reached this difficult decision after thorough discussion," it added.
Bom has been absent from some of 2NE1's recent performances due to unspecified health concerns and personal reasons. These include the Head in the Clouds Festival in the United States last June, as well as the UTO Fest in Thailand and the Waterbomb Festival in Busan, South Korea last July.
Over the weekend, however, Bom was able to perform alongside her bandmates at the football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United at the Seoul World Cup Stadium.

Since late 2024, the four members of 2NE1—who disbanded in 2016—have reunited for a tour celebrating their 15th anniversary, and have continued to perform at various events and music festivals.
In November, the quartet played to a packed Mall of Asia Arena in the Philippines for two nights for their "Welcome Back" tour.
On the first night of the tour's Philippine stop, however, Bom missed several performances but returned to the stage to complete the concert. On the second night, she was unable to complete her performance due to health concerns.
Launched in 2009, 2NE1—composed of CL, Sandara Park, and Minzy—are credited with popularizing the bold and edgy "girl crush" concept among female K-pop idols. Among their most notable hits are "Fire," "I Don't Care," "I Am the Best," "I Love You" and "Come Back Home."
