Avengers: Doomsday directors Joe and Anthony Russo, collectively known as The Russo Brothers, took to social media to express their gratitude to fans after the film's trailer reached 500 million views within its first day of release.
"A huge thank you to the best fans in the world! 500M trailer views in 24 hours 🤯," the filmmakers posted on their official Instagram page.
They added: "We can’t wait to share Doomsday with you. See you in theaters December 18th."
The trailer for Avengers: Doomsday was released on July 20 (Philippine time).
It features the Avengers, led by Thor (Chris Hemsworth), uniting against Doctor Doom (Robert Downey Jr.). The X-Men, including Professor X (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Cyclops (James Marsden), and Gambit (Channing Tatum), also appear alongside the Fantastic Four and the Thunderbolts. Chris Evans also returns as Captain America.
"I've fought with many warriors in my time. They were far stronger than all of us put together and they died. They died facing enemies and threats that scared me far less than this one," Thor said in the trailer.
"Everything that they sacrificed will be for nothing if we do not stand together. Put aside your petty squabbles. And presume nothing except this: if you return, you will return as brothers and sisters. But mark my words, we're going to need a miracle," he added.

In a previous report by Variety, the Russo Brothers reflected on their journey back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
"When we directed Avengers: Endgame, we really believed it was the end for us in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. That four-movie run was incredible, and it left us creatively spent," Joe admitted.
He explained that Avengers: Secret Wars, which will follow Doomsday, ultimately convinced them to return. He described it as a “very special story.”
"It’s the biggest story that Marvel comics ever told. It’s the reason that Anthony and I are standing up here," he stated.
The filmmaking duo also stressed that Doctor Doom is essential to laying the foundation for Secret Wars.
