MANILA — Singer-songwriter Angela Ken is gearing up for a milestone in her career as she prepares to take the stage for her upcoming concert, “Panahon Na Natin,” happening on October 18 at the New Frontier Theater.
Ken could hardly contain her excitement as she talked about being given the opportunity and trust to headline the show.
“Masaya po. ‘Yan po talaga ‘yung umaapaw sa puso at kaluluwa ko ngayon. I am very, very happy to have this chance and for them to trust me na magkaroon po ng concert,” she said.
For Ken, “Panahon Na Natin” will be more than just a showcase of her music. She hopes to create a more intimate connection between herself, her artistry, and the audience.
“I want everyone na nakabili or bibili pa lang ng tickets for them to experience a different kind of personal level ng relationship when it comes to the artist, sa art niya, and sa audience,” she shared.
The singer teased that the concert will feature both familiar and unexpected sides of her as an artist.
“Marami kayong makikita doon na nakita n’yo na, hindi n’yo pa nakita; narinig n’yo na, hindi n’yo pa narinig; napanood n’yo na, hindi n’yo pa napanood,” she said.
At the heart of the concert is the idea of timing, something that has also played an important role in Ken’s journey.
“It’s all about perfect timing. Ang buong konsepto ng concert na ’yun is pinagtibay tayong lahat ng panahon,” she explained.
Preparations are already well underway, with the concept and storyline completed. Ken and her team are now focusing on the music, set list, and guests as they put the finishing touches on the show.
“The concept is done. The storyline is done. It’s ready. We’re now focusing on the music, the set lists, the guests,” she said.
“Everything is almost polished. Ngayong September na, oh my goodness, mag-iisang buwan na lang. Marami na po kaming mga nabaon na ready na for the concert.”
Ken also expressed gratitude for the positive reception the concert announcement and official poster received from fans and the public.
“Umaapaw talaga yung positivity, yung good things na pwede nating sabihin. I’m also happy na the public gave us compliments na maganda. It really validates us na, ‘Yay, happy din sila.’ So, let’s go, let’s do this. Let’s give them a beautiful show,” she said.
