Kapamilya singer-songwriter Yeng Constantino revealed that she once auditioned to be part of the iconic Filipino girl group, SexBomb Girls. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, she recalled how it all went down and how she didn’t make the cut.
Yeng recently celebrated her 20th year in the showbiz industry with a successful two-night concert at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City in August.

“Yes, Tito Boy. This is a part of my life that really… I'm not really good at dancing so my reaction was a bit like, what am I–– well, I'm not really qualified,” she said.
The singer shared how it was her mother who pushed her to audition for the girl group as she wanted her daughter to enter the entertainment industry. She was only 14 years old at the time when she tried to join SexBomb Girls.
“But my mother really wanted me to become an actress. At that time, of course, Ma'am Rochelle [Pangilinan] and Ma'am Jopay [Paguia] were really famous. Mama said, maybe this is the way, try auditioning here, my daughter. But tito Boy, I was only fourteen then,” she recalled.
Yeng then showed some of her dancing skills as she danced to one of SexBomb Girls’ most loved songs, “The Spageti Song. “
“SexBomb was really our idol back then. They were so legendary that everyone would dance to every song they released–– Christmas parties, birthday parties,” she maintained.

Despite not making the cut, Yeng made a name for herself. She would eventually join the first season of Pinoy Dream Academy where she would be hailed as the Grand Star Dreamer.
Since then, Yeng has released several hit songs such as “Hawak Kamay,” “Salamat,” “Chinito,” “Ikaw,” and “Cool Off,” among others. .
