Rapper and songwriter Gloc-9 shared some of the conversations he had with late Pinoy hip-hop icon, Francis Magalona. In the latest episode of Unshaken with Gary V., the “Upuan” hitmaker recalled how the late rapper used to tell him that he would be fine after his death.

Gloc-9 has been open about how Francis M. helped him as an artist and how he has been one of the biggest fans of the late hip-hop icon. The two collaborated on several songs alongside other artists as well.

It was in 2009 when Francis M. passed away after his battle with acute myelogenous leukemia. Gloc-9 shared how he would visit the late rapper in the hospital and whenever they would have the chance to talk, Francis M. would always say the same thing to him.

The rapper and songwriter admitted how he was curious as to why Francis M. would always tell that to him. It was only after his passing that he realized the impact of those words and how it helped him in the future.

“Then he passed, the following day tinawagan kami ng Eat Bulaga asking me to perform our song. Ang first answer ko is bakit? Yun ang sabi ko,” he said.

Despite his hesitation to perform the song, it was his wife who convinced him to do it.

Gloc-9 proceeded to perform the song and after his performance on the noontime variety show, he recalled how a random rich lady went up to him at a parking lot and commended him for performing the song and the impact it had on her.

For that, Gloc-9 expressed how he continues to remain grateful to Francis M., even after nearly two decades after his passing.
