Carlos Yulo said that he would prefer not to invite his parents to his future wedding with Chloe San Jose.
In an interview with Karen Davila, the Olympic gold medalist was asked whether he plans to invite his parents to his wedding someday, to which he answered no.
Carlos explained that he wants the occasion to remain focused on him and Chloe.
"For me, I think because 'yun kasal po namin 'yun and kami po, relationship po namin 'yun. And mas pipiliin kong kami na lang," he stated. "Ayaw ko ring masira 'yung moment namin [na] para sa aming dapat dalawa. Ayaw ko 'yung ano eh, paano po ba, mamantsahan pa."
Carlos also said that while he has already forgiven his parents for what happened in the past, he prefers to leave things as they are.
"Madami na silang ginawa na pinatawad ko na and hanggang doon na lang din po. So, hindi po. Gusto ko sa amin lang po 'yun," he said.
He stressed that he wants their wedding day to be centered on joy and love.
"I really want it to be really full of love and joy kapag nangyari po 'yun," he highlighted.
In the same interview, Chloe said she would respect whatever decision makes Carlos most comfortable.
"Well, honestly, of course they're your parents, you know, I think what he's comfortable with, then that would be what I'm comfortable with," she pointed out.

She also shared that, regardless of who attends, their wedding day would ultimately be about the two of them.
"I think it's because... that wedding day, it will really be about us. Whatever the outside people do or the guests do, I think we would really have our eyes locked onto each other," the singer highlighted.
"So, with or without them, we would have our eyes locked onto each other so it wouldn't bother me as much," Chloe added.
