Vice Ganda is finally bringing back the hit comedy talk show Gandang Gabi Vice after more than six years, describing its much-awaited return as an “answered prayer.”
Speaking exclusively with PUSH ABS-CBN, the Unkabogable Star shared how fulfilling the show’s comeback is after it last aired in March 2020, following a successful nine-year run.
“It is really fulfilling kasi nga pinagdasal ko siya. It's an answered prayer. Hindi lang ako, kundi ng maraming tao. 'Yung mga talagang mga GGV fans and supporters ever since, matagal nila 'tong hinihiling, eh,” he maintained. “Kaya nga kahit nung nawala sa TV, hinihiling nila sa akin na gawin ko at least online, so I tried doing it for a short time online. Pero syempre iba pa rin 'pag sa TV, kaya ito na siya.”
Gandang Gabi Vice will open its new chapter with Kapuso actor and Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards as the first guest. Adding to the excitement are new co-hosts Vince Maristela, Divine Tetay, and Verna Periwinkle, collectively known as the “Geng Gang.”
After wrapping up the taping for the first episode, Vice Ganda was definitely delighted to once again hear stories and share laughs with his guest and the audience.
He also noted how the growing collaboration between ABS-CBN and GMA has created opportunities for artists from both networks not only to appear together on shows but also to work with one another.
“Ito 'yung beauty nung collaboration, because now that ABS-CBN and GMA are collaborating, both the artists of GMA and ABS-CBN are given the opportunity to share the stage with each other, 'di ba? To be able to experience working with each other,” he said.
He added: “Parang ang laya-laya na, parang wala na talagang barrier, at tsaka 'yun ang kailangan natin ngayon, talaga. We just need to collaborate for us to be able to thrive in this very challenging time sa industry.”
With Alden becoming the first Kapuso to join Vice Ganda on Gandang Gabi Vice, could this also open the door for the two stars to work together on more projects in the future?
“Why not? Anything is possible,” Vice Ganda said.
