With the diverse roles she has portrayed in recent years, Janine Gutierrez was asked if there are still characters she dreams of playing in the future.
"It's my goal talaga to have like a diverse set of characters so I'm lucky that I have gotten to do that," she said in an interview on the Almost Honest Podcast with Kylie Verzosa.
Janine said that rather than having a specific dream role, she hopes to become part of more meaningful projects and collaborate with filmmakers she admires.
"There's not any specific role naman, kunwari dream role, I guess it's just like dream projects like I hope I can be part of an international film, or to work with a lot of directors that I look up to like Erik Matti or Jerrold Tarog. But sa role I am open to anything," she highlighted.
The actress also looked back on being part of Lav Diaz's Phantosmia, which premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival in 2024.
"That's my dream kasi. I really want to be part of projects that are made here and that are screened like in festivals or like on streaming platforms globally. I think it is such a cool way to show how it is to be a Filipino," she said.
Beyond acting, Janine also revealed that she hopes to explore producing in the future.
"I do want to be a producer so one of the things on my list na 'yun nga that has been kind of put to the side muna kasi I was filming is I am making a docu about my lola Pilita (Corrales). That's one of my first dream jobs as a producer is to make that."
Back in June, Janine signed her contract with ABS-CBN and Star Magic.
"I am so grateful na they accepted me with open arms. Because alam ko na Star Magic is super loaded and packed with so many talented Kapamilyas and actors – talagang a lot of people that I look up to. So I'm so happy na mayroon pa palang space for me," she said during her contract signing.
The actress added: "Siguro just coming into this new contract with ABS-CBN kasi siyempre marami pa akong gustong gawin and ma-achieve. And I know that under the guidance of Star Magic na talagang very successful in mentoring and supporting their artists, alam ko na mas madami pa akong mararating."
