Shuvee Etrata marked a deeply personal family milestone after her younger sister, Shaina, officially became the first among their siblings to graduate from college. The moment is truly special for the actress as she is their family's breadwinner and the eldest among nine siblings.
The Kapuso actress was present to witness Shaina’s graduation ceremony at the University of San Carlos. On July 2, Shuvee shared snippets of the special occasion through her Instagram Stories.
“1 down, 7 more to go,” she wrote.
In a touching video showing Shaina walking across the stage to receive her diploma, the actress expressed how proud she was to see her sister reach a dream they had both long carried together.
“Carrying both our dreams! Love you and I’m so proud of you!” she wrote.
Beyond celebrating the achievement itself, Shuvee also reflected on the difficult journey they had both gone through growing up, acknowledging the responsibilities they had to carry. According to Shuvee, she deeply appreciated how her sister stood beside her through the many challenges their family faced.

We carried responsibilities long before we got to carry our dreams, but you never let that stop you. Thank you for helping me carry not just our family’s burdens, but our dreams, too,” she shared.

Although she once dreamed of eventually becoming a doctor, circumstances pushed her to temporarily set aside her studies and take on the role of being a breadwinner.
