Nadine Lustre admitted that she still does not see herself becoming a mother.
In an interview on the Almost Honest podcast with Kylie Verzosa, Nadine said that this decision stems from having taken on the role of provider at a young age.
"I think because I'm a breadwinner kasi. I still am and I'm always going to be proud of that," she said. "The thing is, I was like a breadwinner from a very young age. I think when I was 12 kasi that's when I started doing commercials, modeling, ganun, so I was able to put my siblings, my brothers to school. And it always felt so good being able to help at that age, you know, that you are going to provide and just help your parents. It felt good. And even until now it feels good."
However, Nadine admitted that she eventually realized that she spent much of her life taking care of others and now wants to focus on herself.
"But I realized that I've always been taking care of other people, so I have that parang I don't know how to describe it, parang I just feel like, as soon as this is all over, I want to take care of myself. I also want to take care of myself. Like, I want to do things for myself. I don't want another responsibility. I don't want to take care of another person. It's really that," she said.
The 32-year-old actress added that being a breadwinner for so long has meant constantly prioritizing the needs of others over her own.
"And the thing is being a breadwinner for a very, very long time, it's like parang you are constantly thinking about other people and you get to a point where you just put everyone else before you, parang I feel like I am there and that's the reason why I don't really want to become a mom," she pointed out.
Still, Nadine emphasized that she remains open to the possibility that her views could change in the future.
"I've always said naman na it's my decision not to become a mom, but if I do become pregnant, I will commit to it. But I don't know if it's gonna change, probably it will. I'm not closed off naman," she said.
When asked where her boyfriend, Christophe Bariou, stands on the matter, Nadine revealed that he definitely wants children.
"He wants kids, for sure. I mean, it's really just that na parang I feel like I have so much more I wanna do in life. Things that I want to do for myself. May responsibilities pa kasi ako. Parang feeling ko 'yun, kasi I am still supporting my family, so parang gusto ko na ma-feel muna that I'm not supporting anyone for a good period of time, then maybe that will change. Siguro it will happen," she stated.

Back in October 2025, Nadine confessed in an interview with TV Patrol that the idea of motherhood feels daunting to her.
"Nakakatakot maging nanay, honestly, like every time we (referring to Christophe) talk about it. I've been working for as long as I can remember, and I can't imagine having another responsibility other than my career," she said.
Nadine added that there are other priorities she wants to focus on at the time being. "I am so focused on my career and, of course, this guy, and our businesses as well. So parang hindi ako ready. So saludo talaga ako sa mga moms," she remarked.
