International stars and social media personalities have expressed their concern for the victims of the Mindanao earthquake earlier this week. On their respective social media accounts, they offered their prayers and condolences for the victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook the southern Philippines.

According to the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, it was a movement in the Cotabato Trench that caused the earthquake, which caused several casualties across the region.

Thai actor Tay Tawan, who recently visited the country for a fan meeting, made sure to empathize with the Filipinos through a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

“Sa ating mga kaibigang Pilipino, nabalitaan ko ang tungkol sa lindol at nais ko pong ipaabot ang aking taos-pusong suporta at panalangin para sa inyong kaligtasan. Ingat po kayong lahat,” he wrote.

Mexican singer Thalia expressed how “deeply saddened” she was by the devastating news. The Queen of Latin Pop made sure to keep the victims in her thoughts and prayers.

“Philippines, I’m deeply saddened by the news of the earthquake. Keeping everyone affected in my thoughts and prayers, and sending love, strength, and light during this difficult time,” Thalia expressed.

Meanwhile, Pambansang Krung Krung Sandara Park has also issued her statement over the unfortunate news. She maintained how special Mindanao is for her, as she knows the “love and warmth” that she receives from the people there.

“My heart is with everyone affected by the earthquake in Mindanao. Mindanao holds a special place in my heart, and I still remember the love and warmth I received there. I’m praying for everyone’s safety, strength, and recovery,” she shared.

Internet couple Jeraldine Blackman and Justin Leo have also issued their statement on the latter’s Instagram–– assuring that they are one with the people who are affected by the calamity.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in the Philippines affected directly and indirectly by this heartbreaking tragedy. To those who have lost loved ones, been injured, displaced, or are carrying the emotional weight of this event, we are thinking of you and sending strength during this incredibly difficult time,” they wrote.

“Please stay safe, look after one another, and continue supporting those in need. The resilience and spirit of the Filipino people never go unnoticed,” they added.

The death toll of the Mindanao earthquake has risen to 37, as reported by the Office of Civil Defense in a DZMM Teleradyo interview last June 9. Various relief efforts have been conducted by several groups to support those most affected in the region.
