Actress and social media personality Bea Borres revealed that she has lost hope in the Philippines due to recent developments in the government, including the shooting incident in the senate. On her Facebook account, the celebrity mom explained how she has always been vocal against the corruption happening in the country, but nothing has materialized.

“After using my platforms to speak up against corruption, I’m sorry but I have lost hope in our country,” she wrote.

Bea admitted that speaking up about the injustices in the country has also earned her death threats in the past.

“I’ve been speaking up against corruption in our country ever since before, but ikaw nalang talaga mawawalan ng gana because the reality is, no one is being held accountable. It also puts my life at risk. I remember wanting to hire a bodyguard because I got death threats just for speaking up about my opinions,” she recalled.

While she has love for the Philippines, the internet personality called out the government for being a “joke” with what’s been happening recently. She then told her followers not to “cancel” her, as she follows “nepo babies” on social media.

“No matter how much y’all cancel these nepo babies online, their lives still go on. So don't cancel me just because I follow them. I've honestly lost hope in our country because of the government,” she maintained.

In a separate post, Bea expressed her opinions to her fans, she asserted she won’t be risking her life anymore as she has a daughter to take care of already.

“It’s just not worth it for me ANYMORE. beyond the internet, y’all should go outside and kayo nalang maiinis on how misinformed people are,” she ended.

Fans of the social media personality empathized with her in the comment section and shared how they have the same sentiments. Other netizens expressed that they are still hopeful that she could continue voicing out despite what’s going on in the country.

Bea was just one of the many celebrities who have vocalized their frustration and disappointment with the recent developments in the country's politics. Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu, Bianca Gonzalez, Bela Padilla, and Janine Gutierrez, among others, used their platform to speak up about the issue.
