Ending their 19-year marriage, Hollywood ex-couple Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially finalized their divorce after reaching a settlement.
According to U.S. media reports, the Oscar-winning actress and the Grammy-winning musician legally parted ways after reportedly living apart for quite some time.
PEOPLE magazine reported that the former couple “entered into an agreement that was filed in court” on January 6—three months after Kidman officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.

Documents obtained by the magazine revealed that both Nicole and Keith agreed to waive all child and spousal support rights. It was also stated that each party will be responsible for their own legal fees and expenses.
In terms of their daughters, Sunday Rose (who is 17) and Faith Margaret (who is 15), the agreement requires both parents to “behave with each other and each child so as to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.”
“They will not speak badly of each other or the members of the family of the other parent,” the agreement states as per PEOPLE Magazine. "They will encourage each child to continue to love the other parent and be comfortable in both families." Both parents will share joint responsibility for major decisions concerning their daughters’ lives.
The magazine further noted that Nicole’s home will serve as the children’s primary residence, with the actress having custody for 306 days a year while Keith was granted 59 days annually, with visitation scheduled every other weekend.
Meanwhile, Entertainment Tonight reported that much of the process had been settled long before the paperwork was made public. Keith reportedly signed the settlement agreement in August, followed by Nicole in early September, with documents officially filed on September 30. The outlet added that all matters had already been resolved prior to the public learning of the couple’s separation.
As of this writing, neither Nicole nor Keith has released an official statement regarding the divorce.
On January 2, Nicole welcomed the new year with her daughters, sharing a photo on her Instagram Stories that appeared to be taken on New Year’s Eve. The image showed the actress and her daughters from behind, arms wrapped around one another.
"Looking forward into 2026 xx," Nicole wrote in the photo.
Nicole and Keith first met at a gala in January 2005 and tied the knot on June 25, 2006.
In a 2024 interview with PEOPLE, Kidman previously credited her family as her strongest support system, allowing her to thrive both personally and professionally.
"I have my sister, mother, nieces, nephews, daughters. I'm raising a soon to be 16-year-old and a 13-year-old who are divine. They're just lovely people and I'm so lucky that I have Keith, who's just my love, my deep, deep love. That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to," she remarked.
Meanwhile, in a September 2020 appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast, Keith shared that he knew Nicole was “the one” from the moment they met.
"She's just the one. She's the one that I was searching for my whole life, and everything not only changed but had to change in me if I was gonna go that road," he expressed.
