AJ Raval shared a deeply personal chapter of her motherhood journey as she recalled the moment she gave birth to her son, Aljur Jr., with partner Aljur Abrenica, opening up about the fear, faith, and strength that marked his arrival.
In a Facebook post on January 30, the actress revealed that her son was born prematurely in 2024 and faced serious complications shortly after birth. Alongside newborn photos and intimate moments from the day they welcomed him into the world, AJ narrated how close they came to losing him.

“He was born premature a blue baby
In the delivery room for a moment we lost him I did not know what to do
His lungs were not fully developed,” she began.
AJ shared that doctors immediately informed her of her son’s critical condition and the urgent need to move him to another hospital. With the news, AJ could not help but fear for her son’s life, praying for him to live.
“The doctors said his condition was critical and that he needed to be transferred to another hospital
I was scared all I could do was pray
I did not ask God for answers or explanations
I asked for one thing only a life extension for my baby,” AJ recalled.
She recounted how she witnessed doctors perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on her newborn, a moment that left a lasting mark on her as a mother. AJ shared that her son remained in intensive care for days, a period she described as heavy and filled with waiting.
“I saw the doctors performing CPR to revive my baby
After that I do not remember anything I lost consciousness
When I woke up in the recovery room the first thing I did was ask for my baby
The doctor told me he was in the NICU
We did not get to be together right away
He stayed in the ICU for days and all we could do was wait
Those days were heavy and quiet.”
In that silence and uncertainty, AJ said her faith became her anchor.
“In that waiting I realized there was only one thing to hold on to God
That experience changed me in ways I cannot explain
When you come that close to losing someone you realize how small everything else is
What truly matters is life love and the people God entrusts to us,” she emphasized.

The actress ended her post with a reflection shaped by gratitude and renewed perspective, especially on motherhood.
“So appreciate every breath every moment every heartbeat
Because when life shows you how fragile it is you learn to be thankful for everything
Let this be a reminder to appreciate what you have every breath every moment
All glory belongs to God 🙏💙,” she ended.
Following her post, messages of support and encouragement poured in from netizens who praised the actress for her strength. One comment that drew attention suggested that what she experienced was “karma,” which AJ calmly addressed.

After the difficult start of his life, AJ now shares that Aljur Jr. is now healthy. In late November, she finally revealed his face as she posted photos and video clips of him, affectionately describing him as “camera shy.”
Apart from Aljur Jr., AJ has two more children with the actor named Alkina and Abraham. She also has another daughter named Ariana from her previous relationship.
Meanwhile, Aljur has two sons with his former partner, actress Kylie Padilla.
