Your Face Sounds Familiar contestant and actress Rufa Mae Quinto shared a heartfelt message for her late husband, Trevor Magallanes, as she marked their anniversary this January.
On Instagram, Rufa Mae reflected on their life together, recalling how they were hands-on parents to their daughter Athena.
“Ang mga larawang ito ay ang memories kung Paano ko po pinanganak, at inalagaan si Athena, hands on and Wala po kami yaya, kami lang mag asawa ang nag Alaga, nagpalaki, hands on parents kami,” Rufa Mae said.
Now juggling solo parenting and her return to show business, the actress admitted that working again feels different after years away from the spotlight.
“Kaya Naninibago pa ako mag - artista ng Todo ulit, naging ordinary person lang ako sa America pinaka maganda at masaya na naganap sa buhay ko, maging Ina,” she added.
As she marked their anniversary, Rufa Mae expressed her gratitude to Trevor: “Salamat sa panghabang buhay na Ikaw, Trev! Mula sa tummy ko siya inalagaan ko ng mabuti dala na din ng sobrang pagmamahal natin.”
She also recalled the start of their relationship and how quickly they decided to get married.
“Happy anniversary! Naging kami po January 9, 2016 bago ako umuwi sa (Pinas) pero bumalik din ako ng ng January 13, 2016 sa America para mag pa kasal at di na po kami naghiwalay mula noon. 3 days lang ako sa Pinas bumalik na ako sa (San Francisco) agad at magpakasal! Ganoon Kadali, kagaan at bilis sa amin ang Lahat,” she continued.
Rufa Mae also thanked Trevor for giving her their daughter, whom she said strongly resembles him.
“Salamat for giving me Athena, kitang kita ko ang Lahat ng Ikaw sa kanyang mga mata, ugali, tawa, mukha, smile, magsalita, kamay, Boses, kuko, lahat na,” she continued. “We miss you physically, pero alam namin kasama ka namin parati. Andyan lang watching our daughter.”
“Patuloy mo akong alalayan sa mga pangarap natin para kay Athena , Paano palakihin sya ng Masaya, mabait, matalino, cute, funny, healthy, wealthy way to go go go! Magandang umaga, happy new year, happy 3 kings , happy Chinese new year 🧧 happy Valentine’s 💖 Day, advance happy birthday 🎈.”
Rufa Mae and Trevor got married in 2016. In a previous interview, the actress revealed that they met through FaceTime after Trevor got her number from her cousin.

In 2024, Trevor shared via Instagram Story that they were in the process of separating. However, in an interview with Boy Abunda, Rufa Mae clarified that while Trevor had expressed intentions to separate, no divorce papers were filed.
Trevor passed away due to natural causes in July 2025. Rufa Mae asked the public for understanding and privacy as she and her daughter flew to the United States to mourn with family and friends.
In September 2025, Rufa Mae and Athena returned to the Philippines as the actress resumed work while continuing her healing journey.
In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Rufa Mae shared that staying busy helps her cope with grief.
“Kaya po ako nagshoshow ngayon para mabitbit ko ang kaligayahan kaysa sa kalungkutan. Pero hindi po ibig sabihin na sumali ako, kaya nga po ako sumali gusto ko po talagang ilabas lahat ng nararamdaman ko. Alam mo yung sa sobrang heavy gusto mo na lang mag perform. Kaya sana naman makapagperform ako,” the actress admitted.

“Kailangan kong sumaya kasi hindi puwedeng mas haggard pa ako, para na rin sa anak ko di ba. Kailangan niya ako eh, so kailangan maging masaya ako, panalo at award winning ganoon. Thank you to myself,” she quipped.
