Thirteen years has passed since Comedy King Dolphy died but his legacy remains.
Epy Quizon, son of the late comedian, revealed in an interview with veteran broadcaster Julius Babao that even up to this day, he still receives what he calls an “allowance” from his father.

“Hanggang ngayon, ako lang ang simula’t sapul ng pinanganak ako, [I’m turning 52], nagbibigay pa rin ng allowance ang aking ama,” he said.
The actor said it is also the same for his siblings who all have their shares from the legacy of the comedy superstar.
“Lahat, pati ‘yung mga anak na lumipas na. ‘Yung mga sumakabilang buhay na, ‘yung mga anak niya will have that share,” he said.
“Siyempre paliit nang paliit ‘yung shares mo na ‘yun. Habang lumalaki ‘yung royalties, lumiliit din ‘yung shares kasi dumadami ‘yung pamilya pero it’s designed in a way na hanggang ang mga apo-apo sa tuhod ng tatay ko ay makikinabang,” he added.
According to him, what they are receiving from his dad is “enough to be called allowance.”
Epy clarified that although they have businesses, they are not as wealthy as most people think.
“Mali ‘yung konsepto ng mga tao na ang yayaman ng mga Quizon. Mga bilyonaryo, nakabenta ng mga lupa, may prangkisa ng bakeshop, may alak pa na galing Scotland,” he said.

He went on: “Kung tutuusin po, hindi po mayaman. Hindi po bilyonaryo kagaya ng sinasabi niyo. Malaki ‘yung negosyo, tama, pero bente rin po kami magkakapatid. 'Disiotso ero bente po 'yung shares don at ang nakukuha namin diyan ay royalty.”
Epy gave his brother, actor Eric Quizon, credit for cultivating what their father had left.
“Ang magic dun siyempre ‘yung legacy na iniwan niya. Tapos I’ll give my hats off to my brother Eric for really pushing boundaries on what we can do,” he said.
Last July 10, Eric and Epy visited the grave of the celebrated comedian as they commemorated his 10th death anniversary.

“We love you, Dad! You will always be in our minds and our hearts,” Eric captioned the video he posted on Instagram.
