MANILA — Sisi Rondina and Bernadeth Pons exited the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour Nuvali Challenge after falling to their Swiss rivals, 20-22, 22-24, on Thursday at the Nuvali Sands Courts in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
It was a gallant stand for the "SiPons" tandem, putting up a fight in the opening frame, although it ultimately fell short. They even led at the 19-16 mark in the succeeding chapter, but Switzerland's Annique Niederhauser and Menia Bentele made sure that there were no let-ups as they came back into the match.

The visitors unleashed a pivotal 4-0 rally that gave them the lead at 20-19, eventually winning in the extended second set at 24-22.
Rondina tallied 12 points, while Pons was limited to six markers.
They also absorbed a 19-21, 17-21, loss to Denmark's Sofia Bisgaard and Cirkeline Hog earlier in the day, concluding the groups and eventually the tournament with a 0-2 slate.
