MANILA — Six popular Filipino personalities will take part in a celebrity tennis match when Alex Eala makes her highly-anticipated homecoming in December at the Philippine Arena.
Set for December 8, "Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate" will be highlighted by a match between Eala and Indonesia's Janice Tjen.
Six celebrities will also be part of the festivities: Manny Pacquiao, Anne Curtis, Piolo Pascual, Julia Barretto, Donny Pangilinan and Andrea Brillantes.
Tickets are now on general sale via Ticketworld.
The event can potentially surpass the attendance record for a tennis match, currently set at 51,954 spectators for the 2020 showdown between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in Cape Town.
"I love playing tennis in the Philippines, and I'm really excited to come home and share this moment with Filipino fans," Eala said in a statement.
"Having the opportunity to play at the Philippine Arena, in front of tens of thousands of fans, is something truly special. I'm excited to be part of a moment that brings people together, celebrates our culture, and hopefully creates a historic moment for Philippine tennis," she added.

Eala has had a remarkable 2026, capped by a breakthrough WTA Tour championship in Washington DC. She had solid runs in the Wimbledon and the US Open, reaching the fourth and third rounds, respectively.
In Tjen, she faces Indonesia's No. 1 player who has also made her mark on tour.
"I'm really looking forward to playing Alex in Manila and being part of such a special occasion. It's exciting to see the passion for tennis in the Philippines, and I'm sure it will be an incredible experience playing in front of such a big crowd. I'm really looking forward to being part of it," said Tjen.
