MANILA — Karl Ann Pingol of National University (NU) is set to dethrone Ateneo de Manila University's Kacey dela Rosa as MVP in UAAP women's basketball.
Pingol overtook Dela Rosa in the statistical points (SP) race, garnering 93.571 SPs to be the frontrunner, as the Ateneo star finished second at 91.429 SPs.
She helped NU clinch a spot in the stepladder semifinal, averaging 14.29 points, 8.93 rebounds, 5.14 assists, and 3.57 steals per contest, as the Lady Bulldogs secured a 12-2 win-loss card following the end of the eliminations.

Dela Rosa, for her part, is actually the back-to-back winner of MVP nods in Seasons 86 and 87.
Meanwhile, University of Santo Tomas' Kent Pastrana was at third as she collected 86.643 SPs, and Pingol's colleagues Tin Cayabyab and Angel Surada were at 4th and 5th, respectively, after finishing with 73.571 SPs and 71.714 SPs.
