The Tamaraws earned their first win in four games after repelling Adamson University, 64-58, in the men's basketball tournament, Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
FEU saw itself leading entering the payoff period as Sean Chambers' wards installed a 52-45 cushion after outscoring their rivals, 21-14, in the third frame.
The Tamaraws' cushion ballooned to 11 points early in the fourth after conversions from the 15-foot-line and a jumper, 56-45, but the Soaring Falcons refused to bow out, as Emmanuel Anabo and John Erolon nailed triples to inject life into their side and pull within five, 56-51.
It became a shoot out from the arc, as Neil Owens and Monty Montebon exchanged triples for a 61-56 count.

Cedrick Manzano found a breakaway layup for Adamson, 61-58, but FEU's John Rey Pasaol was there for the dagger trey, 64-58, as his crew forced the turnovers on the Soaring Falcons in consecutive possessions to silence their rivals, marking their breakthrough.
Gambian center Mo Konateh had a huge double-double of 18 points and 21 rebounds, to go with two blocks and a steal, while Kirby Mongcopa had 15 points and five rebounds.

Pasaol, aside from his clutch hit, showed his overall game as he finished with 13 points on two three-pointers, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals, as Owens almost had a double-double output with nine markers.
“Siyempre, laking pasasalamat ko talaga kay coach Sean [Chambers] kasi sa kanya ko lang naranasan whole career ko na ganoong kumpiyansa ‘yung binibigay sa akin. Sa practice pa lang, tinutumbasan ko na talaga ‘yung tiwala niya,” said Pasaol.
Montebon listed 14 points to pace his side, as the Soaring Falcons dropped down to 1-3 win-loss card.
