MANILA — The Philippine General Hospital (PGH) is completing the independent medical examinations on Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez on Sunday.
The independent medical tests were conducted upon the order of the Sandiganbayan Third Division, which handles the plunder case against the former House speaker.
"Finishing the last exams. Then the group will meet to discuss/integrate all the findings," PGH spokesperson Jonas del Rosario told ABS-CBN News in a message sent past 1 p.m.

The PGH is set to submit the results of the investigation to the Sandiganbayan Sunday afternoon.
It earlier said that it will not publicize the results of the examination to keep the medical information confidential.
The Sandiganbayan ordered the PGH to present the result in the hearing on Romualdez's motion for continued hospital confinement on Monday.
Romualdez was transferred on Saturday from Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City to PGH, where he will be confined until further orders from the court.
According to Romualdez's doctors at Cardinal Santos Medical Center, he is suffering from:
hypertensive atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease
unstable angina, coronary artery disease, post percutaneous coronary intervention
cerebrovascular ischemic disease
type 2 diabetes mellitus
hypertension
dyslipidemia
primary hypothyroidism
Romualdez's arraignment on his plunder charge, which stemmed from the purported P7.4-billion kickback scheme from government infrastructure projects, is set for Sept. 16.
