Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto, who still managed to crack jokes while in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation overnight, could no longer hold her tears and broke down Thursday (January 9) shortly after being released on bail.
The actress had started processing the bail on Wednesday but was unable to finish before the Pasay Regional Trial Court closed for the day.
Quinto was charged with 14 counts of violation of Section 8 of the Securities Regulation Code in relation to the cases filed by investors against skincare company Dermacare.
Based on the report, all cases are bailable at ₱126,000 each, amounting to a total of ₱1.7 million.
"Nakakanerbiyos 'yung lahat ng nangyari sa 'kin, nakakalungkot, pero naniniwala po ako na ang katotohanan ay mag-pi-prevail," a tearful Quinto told reporters after stepping out of Pasay RTC Branch 111.
"Naiiyak ako kasi ang sarap maging malaya," she said. — Video from Jeff Caparas, ABS-CBN News
