The Philippines' trusted auction house, Leon Gallery, is set to pay tribute to brave heroes for its year-end offering.
Kingly Treasures Auction 2024, happening on Saturday, will put a spotlight on Jose Rizal and Andres Bonifacio.
One of the items to be auctioned is Rizal's 1896 sculpture of Josephine Bracken, "Josephine Sleeping," which is priced at P7 million.
"This is perhaps the most romantic, the most important, and the closest to the heart of Rizal," said Jaime Ponce De Leon, director and founder of Leon Gallery.
"And finally, this has come to light —the family has decided to sell this important sculpture."
De Leon added that the National Museum is "very interested" in the sculpture and "they want to bid for it."
