MANILA -- Internet personality Sassa Gurl rallied protesters at the September 21 demonstrations, urging them to fight on until justice is served.
According to the “Multwoh” star, the movement does not end at the Trillion Peso March.
“Hindi ito ang huli, magkikita tayo hangga’t hindi binabalik ang pera,” she told the crowd who was chanting her name, Sunday.
She said those who remain silent contribute to the problem. “Gutom tayo—fresh sila? Hindi puwede ’yan. Magalit tayo. Kung hindi kayo galit, *** niyo rin,” she admonished.
Sassa Gurl vowed to stand with fellow Filipinos until those tied to corruption in flood control projects are held accountable. “Never kayo iiwan sa kanal. Lalaban ako kasama niyo,” she said.
Meanwhile, "Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11" alum Jasmine Dudley-Scales marked the first anniversary of her exit from the reality show by using the platform to call for accountability over alleged anomalies in flood control projects. She also joined the September 21 protest.
“Today is the first anniversary of getting out of PBB. I mark one year by using my voice,” Dudley-Scales said, Sunday.
She said she felt compelled to speak out as she shares the frustration of having hard-earned money was going to waste.
“As a breadwinner, it’s frustrating to see where billions [are going],” she said. “I’m fighting for people’s rights.”
Dudley-Scales also urged her followers to take part in the movement in their own ways beyond the September 21 protest.
“If you are not here, you can do it in your own time. Labas, Pilipinas. It is for the future generation,” she explained.
