If there’s one thing Ryan Bang and Yeng Constantino are proving right now, it’s that some “what ifs” really do have a way of coming back. After Ryan was serenaded with “Sabihin Mo Na” at Yeng’s Biyaheng Bente concert, Ryan later got emotional on It’s Showtime while looking back on their almost-romance.
And while fans were busy relapsing over Ryan and Yeng, many were also noticing something else— Ryan’s recent look is giving serious Korean leading-man energy.
Speaking of Korea, did you know Ryan Bang was offered opportunities to pursue a career there?
In 2018, Ryan revealed that SBS (a media company in Korea) had offered him a spot on a Korean variety show, which he turned down because he chose to stay in the Philippines.
Years later, in 2023, he shared that SM Entertainment (a South Korean entertainment agency) had also approached him with opportunities in training, acting, hosting, and other entertainment projects. Ryan even met SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man and went through a one-on-one interview at SM Town.
So while Ryan has long been known for his comedy and hosting, his recent look is making fans see a different side of him, one that’s giving serious leading-man energy.
But who knows? Maybe one day, we could see Ryan take on a more serious role, or even become the Korean leading man in a Filipino teleserye or movie.
Now that would be one “what if” worth seeing.
