After interviewing Lucky Stars Mauro Lumba and Iñigo Jose about what they consider to be their greatest achievements yet, “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” host Luis Manzano finally introduced the guest celebrity player for the game show’s August 8 episode, who was later revealed to be the Queen of Teleserye Theme Songs, Angeline Quinto.
After playfully bantering with veteran comedian Negi and comedic duo Abdul and Marsy, Luis posed the same question to Angeline. The talented artist shared that becoming a regular performer on “ASAP” was her most cherished accomplishment, noting that numerous career opportunities opened up for her after that milestone.
What initially started as a lighthearted conversation quickly turned “sour” as the Pambansang Host “sulked” over Angeline’s answer. Luis was “upset” that she didn’t choose her stint on “I Can See Your Voice” as her proudest milestone—an ABS-CBN program that both of them were part of.
Angeline eventually corrected herself, saying that she also took pride in being one of the music game show’s “SING-vestigators.” She also briefly shared how honored she was to have staged her “Patuloy Ang Pangarap” concert.
Selecting actress Karina Bautista’s briefcase number 15 as her pick for the evening, the Kapamilya singer explained her choice by highlighting how most Filipinos look forward to receiving their paychecks every 15th of the month. Hoping to get on the Banker’s good side, she playfully told him, “Banker, ’wag kang masyadong kuripot para friendship tayo.”
Despite opening the ₱25 briefcase, Angeline’s first round soon took a turn for the worse as she eliminated ₱100,000, ₱125,000, and ₱500,000 from the money board. Only rising artist Emilio Daez’s ₱5 briefcase provided a brief reprieve from the early six-digit setbacks.
Joking that Angeline might be destined to go home as a “Pisonaryo,” the Banker offered her ₱45,015 in light of how the first round had gone. However, the guest celebrity player opted to push through with the game and rejected the Banker’s deal.
