And in "Coco Martin's Sigabo," that place is the impoverished and bustling yet close-knit and vibrant community of Barangay Ginintuang Lupa. It is where the well-loved lead protagonist Gabriel "Gabo" Magtibay, portrayed by the acclaimed actor-director Coco Martin, is raised by his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez), apparently after they lost his mother, Belinda (Cristine Reyes).
Surrounded by relatives, friends, and neighbors who look out for one another despite their circumstances, Gabo grows into someone we come to admire—compassionate, courageous, and willing to stand up for what is right. His journey so far has attested that our surroundings indeed do not only shape us but also inspire us to rise above life's challenges and strive for a better future.
In the second episode, viewers were given a vivid picture of the community that helped shape Gabo into the person he has become. Upon his return to Ginintuang Lupa after eight years of imprisonment, Gabo was visibly overwhelmed with exhilaration as—despite being poor, chaotic, and busy—their neighborhood was brimming with resilience, camaraderie, and hope that shine like gold through every corner.
The episode opens with scenes that vividly capture the realities of everyday life for many ordinary Filipinos, particularly those living in the slums. It portrays the harsh circumstances that some residents endure, from eating "pagpag" or leftover food salvaged from restaurants to relying on "jumper" connections for electricity and illegally tapping into water lines to meet their daily needs. Yet amid these difficulties, the people of Barangay Ginintuang Lupa refuse to let hardship define them. They still find reasons to laugh, celebrate, and face each day with courage, positivity, and an unbreakable sense of community.

In a short exclusive behind-the-scenes video shared by CCM Film Productions on social media, avid fans of "Sigabo" were given sneak peeks of the off-cam ganaps in Ginintuang Lupa through the perspective of cast member Nikko Natividad, who plays Binoy.
The video was shot on the day Rudy finally returned home after spending several days in the hospital while in a coma. It offered viewers a rare glimpse of the lighter and more playful side of the cast, especially Coco, which we don't usually see on TV as he tends to be fierce, serious, and always ready for action. Away from the intense scenes packed with either drama or action, Coco could be seen sharing candid and lighthearted moments with his fellow cast members and crew, such as Joey Marquez, Lito Camo, and Unit Director Richard V. Somes. He was also shown leading the prayer before the team began filming for the day, highlighting the rapport and humility among the "Sigabo" family.

Nikko also proudly shared that the joy during tapings extends beyond the main and supporting cast, as even the talents and extras are treated as significant part of the production. “Dito sa Ginintuang Lupa, pinapakita natin ’yong pagmamahalan at pagmamalasakit ng bawat isa,” he remarked.
Among the clips featured in this reel were the residents of Barangay Ginintuang Lupa celebrating the restoration of their electricity through a jumper connection, Gabo’s friends joining his family during one breakfast before they set off to find work, and the lively drinking session with the Opilac family, who portray their neighbors Diday (Diana), Kulas (Ahl), and Estong (Ahldrin).
