If this were a real rom-com, our cheeks would probably hurt from laughing too hard and our hearts would flutter from all the kilig!
Ever since the current format was introduced in the "You Gotta Lyric" round of "Laro Laro Pick" on "It's Showtime," where the hosts act out scenes using the lyrics of the song being guessed as dialogue, it has become an instant fan favorite, thanks to the comedy it brings out.
It's also where we get to see a ton of adorable moments between Darren Espanto and Jackie Gonzaga, now shipped by viewers as DaCkie. The duo never fails to brighten our day with their brand of 'bardagulan' banter, where Jackie often plays the 'hopia' and down-bad girlie while Darren acts as the unbothered, nonchalant guy—or is he catching feelings now, too?
They have already delivered a lot of iconic moments on the segment, so Kapamilya Update did all DaCkie shippers a small service by rounding up some of the best ones. If you're ready to giggle, here's a collection of DaCkie scenes that will make you laugh out loud and really appreciate their chemistry!
The kilig levels shot up during one skit where Jackie pretended she couldn't breathe and asked Darren for CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). Talk about 'para-paraan'—she leaned so close that their lips almost touched. Fans were sent into a frenzy after that near-kiss moment!
From shooting her shot for a kiss, Jackie later asked Darren for a hug in another scene. Unfortunately for the pretty leading lady, her leading man ended this one with a punchline by turning her down and calling her "amoy-bubong."
But you know what they say—manifestation really works. Jackie finally got her wish in one of the succeeding episodes, where the script had them playing a couple. Darren had to deliver lines from the song "Sasakyan Kita," which goes, "Kung gusto mo ng kiss, pagbibigyan kita. Kung gusto mo ng hugs, sige magsawa ka."
Vice Ganda noticed the missing body language to make the performance believable, so she called for a retake and instructed Darren, "Ulitin natin! Kasi 'yung 'gusto mo ng hugs,' naka-hug ka na. Pero 'yung kiss hindi mo pa nagawa." And because nobody says no to ‘Direk’ Vice, Darren finally gave Jackie the kiss she had been manifesting. Also, he followed it up with, "Gusto mo totohanin natin?" Ate Girl, your 'kilig' traveled straight through our screens!
The more acting challenges they share together, the more they're getting comfortable with each other. In another episode, he laid her down on a bed while reciting lyrics from the song "Yakap Sa Dilim." You'll definitely get all the feels from this funny-slash-kilig moment, especially since Jackie's reaction looked a little too real, prompting Darren to say, "Hala! Kinikilig! Acting lang 'to!"
Jackie also got too 'hopia' in this next ‘aktingan’ portion. While the two were pretending to go sightseeing, Darren suddenly went down on one knee. Thinking a proposal was about to happen, Jackie's character blurted out, "I do!" only to realize that Darren was just tying his shoelaces. Ngeee!
And for the final entry on our list, the duo ventured into a horror-comedy skit, where she was terrified of getting separated from him because of a ghost. That's why he assured her, "If you're lost you can look and you will find me... If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting." Darren was so convincing that Jackie had to react, "Konti na lang, mafo-fall na!"
So, which of these DaCkie moments made you laugh and kilig the most?
