It’s been a while since he was last seen regularly in a digital series, but that’s why actor JC Alcantara is more than excited to show fans what he can do with his latest role as Cole in the new iWant dark comedy series Miss Behave. In the high school coming-of-age story, JC is paired with Alexa Ilacad for the first time, a role which he did not expect when the project was first offered to him. During his first taping day, he shared how he felt having to immediately do Alexa’s first-ever kissing scene.
“First scene ko, kissing scene agad. First day agad ng taping. Kasi ako dapat si Warren dito. Nag-prepare ako for almost two months . After nun, sabi sa akin, ‘JC, ikaw na si Cole.’ And then after nun, taping na agad so kinakabahan ako kasi hindi ko alam gagawin. Hindi ako nakapag-prepare sa role na ‘yun,” he recalled during the Miss Behave media con.

Even before shooting the challenging scene, JC admitted he had always looked forward to being Alexa’s co-star someday, as a fan of her work onscreen.
“Buti na lang, ginuide ako ni Direk and also si Alexa sobra. Sobrang dream come true kasi sa akin na makatrabaho si Alexa. Pangarap ko talaga makatrabaho siya. Before pa lang, sinasabi ko na kay Direk, promise, legit! And then ‘yun, first kissing scene namin, reading-ready ako, sobrang ready ko. Tapos si Alexa kinakabahan. Sabi ko, ‘Don’t worry, gagabayan kita. Ako bahala sa ‘yo. Ganito ang gagawin natin. Dahan-dahan lang ako. Ako bahala.’ Tapos nung taping na, go, kiss. Pag kiss niyang ganun, oh my God, ang lala! Like hindi first time, in a good way. Sobrang professional ni Alexa,” he admitted.

Originally hailing from Nueva Ecija, JC started his career as a commercial model in 2016 before landing his first lead role in the BL series Hello Stranger in 2020 opposite Tony Labrusca. JC has also appeared in various episodes of long-running ABS-CBN shows like Maalaala Mo Kaya and Ipaglaban Mo! since 2017.
