Rupert Grint is set to return to the Harry Potter universe, reprising his iconic role as Ron Weasley, this time on the Broadway stage.

Rupert shared his excitement about revisiting Ron at a different stage of both the character's life and his own.

"Ron Weasley has been a part of me since I was 11 years old and I can't wait to meet him again in this stage of life," he said in a statement as reported by BBC.

"There is something so full-circle and so special about stepping back into Ron's shoes now when we are both fathers; it is somehow both very familiar and completely new," he added.

The actor also reflected on returning to Broadway while taking on the role that helped define his career.

"And the joy of being back on Broadway, this time in a role that defined so much of my life is truly exciting," he remarked.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender praised Rupert's portrayal of Ron Weasley, saying his performance helped shape the character as an enduring symbol of loyalty, courage, and friendship for generations of fans.

"Rupert is not simply revisiting a role from his past. He is continuing a journey he began as a child and carrying it forward with all the life and experience he has gained since filming concluded, including a career that has taken him from film to television to acclaimed stage work on both Broadway and the West End," they said.

Rupert first starred in the Harry Potter franchise in 2001 with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He concluded his journey in the film series a decade later with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 in 2011.
