Roy Jornales believes that his son Heath Jornales' early start in show business has given him an advantage as the latter continues to build his career in the entertainment industry.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Roy was asked whether he had any concerns about Heath entering showbiz at a young age.
"I guess it's also an advantage kasi learning process ang industriya eh. You learn acting, you learn the experiences, you learn the pakisama inside the industry, so at least natre-train din siya early on," he said.
Roy also pointed out that starting young gave Heath more time to develop skills that could help him in his career.
"Just like his talents, martial arts and everything, he started so young, so nung kailangan niya ngayon, na-develop na po siya, hindi 'yung ngayon lang siya nag-start mag-train," he highlighted.
When asked if he and his wife already saw Heath’s potential to enter the entertainment industry when he was younger, Roy recalled noticing his son’s natural presence in front of the camera.
"Nung bata po siya, makikita niyo naman po, siyempre sa industriya, isang tinitingnan talaga is 'yung appearance and pini-picturan namin siya para sa photo cards, mga ganyan, and makikita niyo naman po na may dating, may potential ika nga, and may talents din sya like sa martial arts, so I think meron siyang patutunguhan pagka ganun, and music also," he recounted.
Aside from acting, Roy and Heath also share a common interest in music, which has become another way for the father and son to bond.
"Sa bahay 'pagka spare time, nagja-jam kami kasi mahilig talaga kaming kumanta at siya mag-gitara, ako mag-gitara rin, so nagja-jam kami. And then one day sabi niya, 'Dad listen to this.' And sabi ko wow that's great. Sabi ko anong song yan? Sabi niya, I made it. Sabi ko wow," he said.
In the same interview, Heath was asked whether his parents encouraged him to pursue show business, especially since both of them had experience in the entertainment industry.

"Ako po nung bata pa ako since napapanood ko rin po 'yung work ni daddy sabi ko kay mama gusto ko i-try 'yung showbiz. Nag-start po ako sa commercials and eventually napunta po ako sa Sparkle and then started doing shows, tapos nag-tuluy-tuloy po and na-enjoy ko naman," he stated.
