Lea Salonga shared the emotional moment she experienced as her son, Nic Chien, moved into his college dorm.
"My babes is now officially moved into his dorm. This new adventure has begun in earnest," Lea posted on her Instagram page, sharing photos of Nic arriving in his dorm.
The Broadway star admitted that the milestone brought plenty of emotions for their family.
"It was definitely an emotional few days for us, but we’ll be okay. Many thanks to @victorlirio for driving the long drive, schlepping all the things, and treating me to a much-needed espresso martini when we returned to the city," she said.
Lea ended her post with a heartfelt message for her son.
"Onward and upward, @nicchien.official! We’re all so proud of you!" she said.

After graduating from high school and before beginning his college journey, Nic took a gap year and spent part of that time performing in a production of Into the Woods.
Lea and Nic also recently enjoyed another memorable experience together when they attended BTS’ Arirang concert at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Broadway star shared photos and videos from the event on social media, including moments from the soundcheck and concert proper, as well as snapshots of herself enjoying the show with Nic.
"We made it to MetLife Stadium in New Jersey! I didn’t take too many fancams this time, given our seats I wanted to take them in with my eyeballs! Once again, lots of Pinoy ARMY! Thank you, @bts.bighitofficial for such a fantastic show!!!" Lea posted on her Instagram page in early August.
She also gave a special shoutout to the dancers who joined BTS onstage.
"Huge shoutout to the dancers! We felt like you were dancing just for us!!!" she added.
