BTS member V revealed that he has a hearing loss in one ear and has been receiving treatment for it. In a livestream on fan community platform Weverse earlier this week, the 30-year-old South Korean superstar shared how he has been dealing with the problem for more than two years already.
V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, has revealed his hearing problem for the first time and fans have expressed their concern.
“I’ve never told ARMY this before, but it’s been about two and a half years, I think. My hearing started getting worse,” he shared.
“If the hearing in my left ear is at 100, it's only about 30 in my right,” he added.

V added how his hearing became worse when he was serving in the military–– a mandatory service that all seven members have undergone. All healthy and able South Korean men are required to serve 18 months of military service in South Korea, with exceptions in some.
Despite this, he maintained he has been receiving treatment for it and has been going to the hospital regularly to have it checked.

Fans of the superstar expressed their concern on various social media platforms and hope that everything will be alright for him in the future.
“Taehyung so full of energy, happy on stage, and thinking about making us happy and we didn't know, omg Taehyungie 😥. His health is the priority always, please take care TaeTae,” a fan wrote.
“Hearing loss is a sad thing for a musician and is not good for their performance. Take care, Taehyung. Rooting for you!,” another fan added.
Meanwhile, BTS has been going around the world for their Arirang world tour. They are set to perform in the country on March 13, 14 and 16, 2027 at the Philippine Sports Stadium. Their return to the country is made possible by local concert promoter Live Nation Philippines.
