As we celebrate Pride Month this June, we shine the spotlight on the Filipino drag queens who have showcased their creativity, humor, fashion, and resilience on the global stage.
From RuPaul's Drag Race to other international competitions, these queens have proven that the Philippines is home to world-class drag artists whose talent continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
Marina Summers
Marina Summers has become one of the biggest names carrying Filipino drag onto the international stage. After finishing as the runner-up on the inaugural season of Drag Race Philippines in 2022, Marina represented the country in RuPaul's Drag Race UK vs. the World Season 2 in 2024, where she finished as a Top 4 finalist.
Among her standout moments was her "AmaFilipina" performance, a drag rendition of Maymay Entrata's hit song "Amakabogera" that celebrated Filipino pride and instantly became a fan favorite.
She also made history as the first Filipina drag queen to walk the prestigious Cannes Film Festival red carpet.
Manila Luzon
Long before Filipino drag gained mainstream recognition, Manila Luzon had already made her mark on the global stage. The Filipino-American drag icon first competed on RuPaul's Drag Race Season 3 in 2011, where she finished as runner-up. She later returned for RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars Season 1 and All Stars Season 4.
Beyond competing, Manila has continued to champion drag in the Philippines. In 2021, she became the host, head judge, and executive producer of Drag Den with Manila Luzon on Prime Video.
Jiggly Caliente
Named after one of her favorite Pokémon characters, Filipino-American drag superstar Jiggly Caliente became a fan favorite during RuPaul's Drag Race Season 4 in 2012, where she finished eighth. She later returned to compete in RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2021.

In 2022, Jiggly became one of the resident judges of Drag Race Philippines, helping guide a new generation of Filipino drag artists.
The drag community mourned her passing in 2025 after her family announced that she had died at the age of 44, just days after undergoing the amputation of her right leg.
Eva Le Queen
Although her journey on RuPaul's Drag Race Global All Stars ended earlier than many fans had hoped, Eva Le Queen proudly represented the Philippines in the competition in 2024, finishing in 10th place. One of her most memorable moments came when she humorously taught the world the “Filipino way of cooking rice.”
Before competing internationally, Eva placed tied for third in the first season of Drag Race Philippines.
Maxie Andreison
Before becoming a Drag Race Philippines champion, Maxie Andreison first represented the country in Queen of the Universe Season 2 in 2023, making history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian contestant in the global singing competition for drag queens. There, she showcased not only her drag artistry but also her powerhouse vocals.
Brigiding
Brigiding added another milestone to Filipino drag history after winning the inaugural season of Drag Race Philippines: Slaysian Royale. The spin-off competition brought together returning queens from the Philippines and other Drag Race franchises across Asia and beyond, including contestants from Canada, the United States, France, Australia, Thailand, and Belgium.
M1ss Jade So
The next Filipina queen set to represent the country internationally is M1ss Jade So. She will compete in the inaugural season of RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under vs. the World, which premieres this July, becoming the latest Filipina to bring her artistry to a global audience.
Jade first rose to prominence on Drag Race Philippines Season 2, where she competed as one of the franchise's first openly transgender contestants alongside Bernie and Captivating Katkat.
From pioneering trailblazers to today's rising stars, these queens have proudly carried the Philippine flag onto some of the world's biggest drag stages and continue to show that Filipino drag deserves a place in the global spotlight.
