Actress-Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto is heading back to their home in San Francisco, California as she prepares to celebrate her birthday this coming May 28.
This year carries a heavier meaning as it marks her first birthday as a widow after her husband Trevor Magallanes passed away in July 2025 due to natural causes. Rufa Mae will be spending the occasion with their daughter Athena, revisiting a home filled with memories of their life as a family.
In an Instagram post, the actress-comedienne shared a throwback photo from her birthday celebration in Hawaii two years ago, where she was with Trevor and Athena.
“My birthday in Hawaii 2 years ago.. missing our family. We usually celebrate mother’s day, my Mom’s death Anniversary [on] May 26, my birthday [on] May 28 and father’s day when we travel!,” she wrote.
She also reflected on how joyful those moments were for them as a family and added that as they head home, Trevor will always be remembered.
“Ok ang lahat , pinaka masaya na taon magkasama … Now, me and Athena will go back to our home in San Francisco without you (physically)… after everything! You will be in my heart forevermore! Go go go!” she continued.
“First birthday ko na widow .. babang luksa. Luks like we made it! Anak!,” Rufa Mae ended.
Fans and supporters expressed admiration for her strength, while many also shared messages of sympathy as she navigates major family milestones without her husband.
Rufa Mae and Trevor got married in 2016 and built a life centered on their daughter Athena.

In January, Rufa Mae also remembered Trevor on their wedding anniversary, sharing how deeply their shared life as parents shaped their journey.
“Ang mga larawang ito ay ang memories kung paano ko po pinanganak at inalagaan si Athena, hands on and wala po kami yaya, kami lang mag asawa ang nag alaga, nagpalaki, hands on parents kami,” Rufa Mae wrote.
She also expressed gratitude for Trevor and the life they built together.
“Salamat sa panghabang buhay na ikaw, Trev! Mula sa tummy ko siya inalagaan ko ng mabuti dala na din ng sobrang pagmamahal natin,” Rufa Mae continued.
“Salamat for giving me Athena, kitang kita ko ang lahat ng ikaw sa kanyang mga mata, ugali, tawa, mukha, smile, magsalita, kamay, boses, kuko, lahat na,” she continued. “We miss you physically, pero alam namin kasama ka namin parati. Andyan lang watching our daughter.”
She ended with a prayer of continued guidance as she continue to raise their daughter as a single mom.
“Patuloy mo akong alalayan sa mga pangarap natin para kay Athena , Paano palakihin sya ng Masaya, mabait, matalino, cute, funny, healthy, wealthy way to go go go!”
