Mother’s Day may only come once a year, but these family-oriented celebrities shared that they will always cherish the bonding moments they’ve had with their moms while growing up. They shared with PUSH ABS-CBN what they consider as some of their most standout memories.
Brent Manalo
“I make sure talaga na I take my mom out on a date on Mother’s Day. ‘Yung alaga ‘yung naging yearly tradition namin. Hindi lang ‘pag Mother’s Day, pati Valentine’s Day siya ‘yung ka-date ko eh. And I guess, sobrang important now that I’m so much older and I don’t have that much time to really spend time together. Lagi kaming sit-down dinner, kuwentuhan. It’s very, very intimate and personal.”
Marina Summers
“I’m very lucky that I have Mommy Summers. That’s what the drag community calls her. My favorite moment with my mom honestly is that when we were preparing for Drag Race Philippines Season 1 and UK vs The World Season 2, my mom would drive me to my fittings. She would drive to Pampanga, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, outside of Manila. She would drive me kasi hindi pa ako marunong mag-drive nun. She would drive me and she has always been supportive. That’s what I love about my mom. I’m a mom’s girl. I used to wear her heels. When I was younger, I would steal her makeup. Pagagalitan niya ako pero hindi niya ako pipigilan.”

“Ang favorite bonding namin ng nanay ko ay tumunganga. Parang gusto ko ‘yung nanunuod lang kami ng TV or magkatabi kami na wala kaming ginagawa. I just really love na kasama ko lang siya. Kahit anong gawin namin basta magkasama kami, I really love it. Share ko lang, ‘yung first ever niyang out of the country trip was in Singapore. So I think isa rin ‘yun sa mga memorable moments namin together as mom and daughter. Daughter? (laughs) Gusto ko ma-experience niya more travels, more kain sa labas, mas ganun na lang po kami. At saka ‘yung nanay ko sobrang simple lang po niya. Hindi na siya naghahangad ng mga material na mga bagay so I think experience na lang.”
JC Santos
“Taga-Pampanga kami so lagi akong pinagluluto ng nanay ko. Lagi kong na-mi-miss ‘yung mga nilagang baka na may mais niya. Tapos natutunan ko rin ‘yun gawin eventually. She’s an OFW kasi so I hope she comes back and celebrates with me again.”
Yuki Takahashi
“Favorite memory ko with my mom is ‘pag nag-i-inflate siya ng pool sa bahay namin and then we’re just swimming there and everything. And then kakain kami sa swimming pool and mainit. I would say na ‘yun ‘yung pinaka-favorite memory ko kasi sobrang chill and sobrang intimate ng bonding na ‘yun for me.”
Sassa Gurl
“Alam niyo, hindi kami nakakapag-travel together before, pero ngayon nakakapag-travel na kami kasi nabibigyan ko na siya ng opportunity para mag-travel. So ‘yun ang pinakapaborito kong moment sa amin. Kasi ‘pag nakikita ko ‘yung nanay ko ay na-a-amaze siya sa mga ganap ng probinsiya, sa mga out of town trips namin. Sobrang happy ako dun.”
